Technique case

Break a fight into 5 single-action shots

Punching, dodging and falling in one continuous shot makes limbs tangle and warp.

Example scene

In an alley, lead Chen Mo is cornered by two thugs and takes one down in a single move. 12 seconds, crisp, and clear who hits whom.

Steps
Write the fight as a chain of single actions: standoff, punch thrown, Chen Mo sidesteps, grabs the wrist, opponent goes down.
Give each action its own 2–3 second shot, written as starting pose → motion → end state.
Pose each keyframe at the instant before the action, e.g. the fist already raised.
Shoot contact moments as close-ups on wrist and upper body; use full-body shots only for the standoff and the fall.
Keep the camera locked or following in one direction only during action.
Cut on the fastest moment of each action and use impact sounds to bind the shots into one move.
Prompts
Keyframe (wrist grab)
Narrow alley at night, wet ground reflecting orange streetlight. Chen Mo: 30-year-old man, buzz cut, dark grey hoodie; his right hand grips the outstretched right wrist of a man in a black jacket. Upper-body two-shot, side angle, vertical 9:16. Clear hand anatomy, five fingers on each hand.
Video (wrist grab)
Chen Mo twists the man's wrist downward and the man bends forward with it. Crisp, medium-size motion that stops after about 2 seconds. Locked-off camera. Keep both men's clothes, faces and the alley unchanged; no new people.
Negative
limbs passing through each other, extra arms, backward-bending joints, fused fingers, warped body, extra people, motion smear
✕ Failed take

One 10-second prompt said “intense fight, punching, dodging, falling”: a third arm appears at second 4, Chen Mo's leg passes through the other man, and by the end you can't tell who fell.

✓ Passing take

Five 2–3 second shots cut together read as one clean takedown. Pass criteria: each shot has one action with a clear end frame; frame-by-frame there are no extra limbs or reversed joints; with sound off you can say who punched and who won.

Before/after clips are in production. Follow the steps and prompts to reproduce the result.
