Troubleshooting

Flicker and crawling textures

Brightness pulses and clothing textures or background details shimmer from frame to frame.

Why it happens
  • The first frame has fine repetitive detail: plaid, dense text, foliage, grids.
  • The prompt includes flickering light sources like lightning, neon or fire.
  • Too many layers of rain, snow, smoke or particles for the model to track.
  • The prompt only says “no flicker” without naming what to hold steady.
How to fix it
Note which second and which area flickers; locate it before changing anything.
Replace fine patterns in the first frame with large flat colours or simple materials.
Name concrete holds: keep the cold white key-light brightness, uniform texture and background layout unchanged.
Add effects one layer at a time: stabilise character and set first, then add rain or smoke.
Treat mild flicker with a deflicker or denoise filter in the editor instead of regenerating.
Before and after
Fails
Street with flashing neon lights, no flicker.
Works
A shop sign glows a steady warm orange with constant brightness; keep the jacket texture and background buildings unchanged.
Prevent it next time:Avoid fine patterns in the first frame, describe light sources as steady, and add effects last.
