CHAPTER 06 · COMPLETE TUTORIAL

Editing, Subtitles & Delivery

Align picture and sound, finish color and subtitles, then export a platform-ready master.

INPUTShots, audio stems, subtitle copy, and rights records
DELIVERABLEMaster, subtitles, cover, project archive, review notes
Tools: CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, or FFmpeg

Follow the workflow

Arrange shots by story information and remove unstable frames and dead pauses.
Align dialogue, lip movement, and key effects before refining picture cuts.
Generate subtitles, then verify names, numbers, line breaks, and safe areas manually.
Normalize exposure, white balance, saturation, and loudness.
Export a 9:16 vertical master and review it muted, audio-only, and on a phone.
Record failed shots, time, and cost as inputs to the next episode.

Reusable template

Delivery target: vertical 9:16, typically 1080×1920; H.264 video and AAC 48kHz audio; keep source frame rate; use platform-appropriate bitrate. Do not upscale low-resolution material and describe it as native HD.

Keep invariant fields fixed and replace only project variables. Change one variable per test.

Quality gates

  • Subtitles are correct and do not cover faces or action
  • Color and ambience remain continuous
  • Dialogue is clear on a phone speaker
  • Format and cover match the platform
  • Rights and sources are traceable
Troubleshooting:
Trim empty frames around actions when pacing drags. Normalize white balance before applying a look. Shorten and semantically break dense subtitles. Check source resolution before export.
SPECIALIST GUIDES

Additional practical guidance

Assign clear roles to picture, dialogue, ambience/effects, music, and subtitle tracks.
Review for three minutes: full story, muted picture, then audio only.
Make title, cover, and first three seconds express the same central conflict without revealing the answer.
Map click-through, first-three-second retention, completion, and comment confusion to cover/title, opening, pacing, and story clarity; change one major variable per release.
