CHAPTER 01 · COMPLETE TUTORIAL

Story Planning & Script

Define audience, format, conflict, and timing, then write visible action and concise dialogue.

INPUTGenre, target platform, and central conflict
DELIVERABLEProject brief, timed script, dialogue list
Tools: Doubao, DeepSeek, or any text model

Follow the workflow

Define platform, aspect ratio, audience, duration, and intended emotion.
Write protagonist, goal, obstacle, stakes, and reversal in one sentence.
Allocate time to hook, setup, escalation, climax, and cliffhanger.
Convert abstract emotion into visible behavior and keep the cast and locations small.
Read dialogue aloud, time it, and remove lines that do not change the scene.

Reusable template

Write a 30-second vertical AI short drama about [genre]. Use no more than three characters, three locations, and eight shots. Show an anomaly in the first three seconds, give each shot one story action, keep dialogue concise, and end with a reversal. Output characters, shots, action, dialogue, emotion, sound, and duration.

Keep invariant fields fixed and replace only project variables. Change one variable per test.

Quality gates

  • A visible conflict appears in the first three seconds
  • Every scene changes information, relationship, or stakes
  • Dialogue fits its shot duration
  • The ending delivers a result, reversal, or next question
Troubleshooting:
If the story starts slowly, move the worst moment to shot one. If dialogue is long, keep decisions, refusals, secrets, and reveals; turn the rest into action.
SPECIALIST GUIDES

Additional practical guidance

Choose source material with one clear line of action, visible conflict, a small cast, and limited locations.
Rewrite by story function: retain goal, obstacle, decisive choice, and payoff; remove internal monologue and repeated exposition.
Use one scene and one small objective per block, then validate a three-to-six-shot sample before expanding.
For adaptation, rebuild relationships, conflict mechanism, events, dialogue, ending, and theme—not merely names. Confirm rights before commercial use.
